Global Catalog, Sites in Windows Server 2012 by NetworkingGeeks?

Global Catalog

  • The Global Catalog comes under Multi Master Operation Role that contains Complete information of Host Domain and the Partial Information of the Other Domain  in a Forest.
  • By searching against Global Catalog, Individual domains do not have to be queried in most cases Global Catalog can resolve.
  • Servers that holds the copy of Global Catalog are called as Global Catalog Server.

What is Operation Master by NetworkingGeeks ?

There are five operations master roles are assigned automatically when the first domain controller in a given domain is created. Two forest-level roles are assigned to the first domain controller created in a forest and three domain-level roles are assigned to the first domain controller created in a domain.
List Of Operation Master listed below:
  • Naming Master
  • Schema Master
  • RID Master
  • PDC Master
  • Infrastructure Master
Naming Master: Naming Master Operation Role checks and maintains the uniqueness of the Domain Names in the whole Forest. It is responsible for adding, removing and renaming the domain names in the whole Forest.

Schema Master: Schema Master Operation Role defines Set of Rules which is used to define the Structure of Active Directory. The Schema Master Contains definitions of all the Objects which are stored in Active Directory.
Schema is further classified into two Parts:
Classes : Class is a Template which is used to create an object an object.
Attributes : Attributes are called Property of an Object.

RID (Relative Identifier) Master: RID Master assigns unique IDs (RIDs) to the Objects which are created in the Domain. It allocates Pool of Relative IDs to all domain controllers within a Domain.

PDC (Primary Domain Controller) Emulator : PDC Emulator acts as a PDC for windows NT 4.0 BDC's (Backup Domain Controller) in the Domain. It process all password updates for clients and Receives immediate updates from the other domain controllers when a user's password is changed or updated. It synchronized time between the domain controllers within a Domain.

Infrastructure Master : Infrastructure Master maintains an updates the universal group membership information. It is basically used for Inter - domain operation.

All these Operation Master Roles Comes under FSMO Roles (Flexible Single Master Operation) All these Roles are comes under to major part i,e.
Forest Wide Role:
  • Naming Master
  • Scheema Master

Domain Wide Role:

  • RID Master
  • PDC Emulator
  • Infrastructure Master
All of the listed roles we have discussed in the above article.

What is Profile & Home Folder in Windows Server 2012 by NetworkingGeeks

A Profile is a User State Environment that contains personal settings of user like:

  • Documents
  • Desktop Settings
  • Start Menu Icons
  • Shortcuts
  • Application Data
  • Downloads
  • Pictures
  • Musics
  • Videos
  • Contacts
  • Favorites

Profile is very important part part of this discussion. In order to manage activity of user that is there in network, we need to use Profile concept. A profile is basically used to store user activity on a dedicated location so that can restored or backup. In these situation System administrator has responsibility to create Profile for users to store important data. It is important when the user or administrator wants to restore important information. Excepts Local Drive Every things comes under Profile.

In general there are three types of profiles that we are using. they are as follows:

  • Local Profile
  • Roaming Profile
  • Mandatory Profile
Local Profile: A local Profile is created in the very first time when you log on to your computer and is stored on a computer local hard disk. Any Changes that you made to your local user profile are specific to the computer on which you made the changes.

Location of local profile
In windows server 2012, 2008, windows 8, windows 7, windows vista
In windows server 2003, 2000, NT, XP, 2000 professional

Roaming Profile: A Roaming Profile is Created by your system Administrator and stored on a server. This profile is available every time when you log on to any computer on the network. Any changes made to your roaming user profile are updated on the server.
Roaming profile is very useful in case of restoring data and creating backup for user. Administrator can do backup or restore task by sitting on their own location easily.

HOME FOLDER is a Centralized Location of the user file or data. Home Folder make it easier for an administrator to back up user files by collecting all user's file in one location. When ever the users log on to any computer in a domain, HOME FOLDER will be available in the form of networking Drive/ Network Location.

What are Permissions and Explain Different Types of Permissions by NetworkingGeeks

There are different types of permissions available in windows server to manage resources. Permission defines the type of access granted to a user, group or computer to access resources.. Permission can be applied to resources such as files, folders and printers. It is like privilege to read file, delete a file or to create a new file in folder.

There are two types of privilege. they are,

  • Security level permission
  • Share level permission
Security level Permission
Here we will discuss the requirements where we can implement security level permission. There is long list of it and is very important that every one should keep these things in mind.
  • Security level permission can be implemented only on NTFS(New Technology File System) Partition.
  • Security or NTFS permission can be set on drives, folders and files.
  • By default security level permission will be inherited from its parent drive or folder.
  • File permission overrides folder permission.
  • Creators of the files and folders are their owners.
  • Different Security permissions are Full control, Modify, Read & Execute, Write, Read, List Folder Content.

Share Level Permission

  • It can be implemented on NTFS as well as FAT Partitions.
  • It can be set on Drives and Shared Folders but not on files.

What is Shared Folder?

  • Shared folder can be accessed from network.
  • When you copy and move a shared folder, the folder will no longer be shared.
  • To hide a shared folder, include a $ sign after the name of the shared folder & user access hidden shared folder by typing UNC (Universal naming Convention) path.
  • Different Share level Permissions are Read, Read/Write.

What is Active Directory Domain Services and Purpose of Active Directory Domain Services by NetworkingGeeks

What is Active Directory Domain Services(AD DS)

The Active Directory Domain Services (AD DS) Database stores information of user identity, computer, groups, services, and resources. Active Directory domain services also hosts services that authenticate user account and computer accounts when they log on to the domain.
ADDS, Active Directory, Active Directory Domain Services

Purpose Of AD DS (Active Directory Domain Services):
  • It Provides User logon and authentication services using KERBEROS protocol.
  • To Centralized and DE-Centralized the resource management.
  • To Centrally organize and manage user accounts, computer groups, network resources.
  • Enable authorized users to easily locate network resources.
What are the Requirements to Install AD DS (Active Directory Domain Services).

  • The System should have Server OS (Operating System).
  • System should be in WORKGROUP model.
  • The system should must have STATIC IP address.
  • The Hard Disk Or Local Disk Partition should be in NTFS(New Technology File System) format.
  • DNS(Domain Name System) is required.
The above LISTED ALL THE REQUIREMENTS SHOULD MUST BE AVAILABLE THERE IN THE SYSTEM THEN ONLY WE CAN INSTALL  Active Directory Domain Name. I would like to clear one thing about AD DS. The active Directory Domain services is previously known as Active Directory and later named as ADDS.

Data Types in Oracle

A data types specifies type of data allowed in column and amount of memory allocated for that column. Every column must have a datatype or data defination that ensure that which type of data you are going to store.

There are various type of data type.

String data type:

CHAR: It allows character data upto 2000 characters recomended for fixed length. let's see an example of character that clearify fixed length concept.

Oracle adda
Char-oracle adda

In this case there are memory wastage. so that it is not recommended for variable length data. you can use this for fixed data.

Overview of Sql Language

Oracle is s software and their functionality is disscussed in older post. To work with Database we need a client to send request and accept responce. And to communicate with oracle server we need a language and that language is called SQL. SQL is initially developed by IBM and their name was SEQUEL.

SQL is structured Query Language. User communicates with oracle server by sending command and instruction , that instruction and command is called Query. A query is a command and instruction submitted to oracle server to perform operation on database.

If English is a language then sentance is used to communicates with people, same as If SQL is a language then Query is used to communicate with database.

SQL    =Query

Understanding Of Data Defination Language in Oracle

Understanding Of Data Defination Language. Data Defination Language is one of the sub Language of SQL Language. In previous post i have describe all sub language of sql. Now in this post i am going to explain about Data Defination Language. This Language is specially designed to define Database objects such as TABLE, VIEWS,STORED PROCEDURE, FUNCTION and TRIGGER e.t.c.
A Data Defination Language is pre-defined syntax for describing data.

Enjoye your shopping with offerbaba

DATA DEFINATION LANGUAGE enables you  to perform such operation on database.
CREATE, ALTER and DROP scheema objects
GRANT and REVOKE privildges and ROLEs
Analyze information on a TABLE, INDEX, or CLUSTER
Establshing auditing options
Add conmments to DATA DICTONARY

What is Processor and Types of Processor

Hello Guys in previous post of Hardware Learning we have talk about the BIOS. In this Post we are going to deal about Processor. Processor is another essential hardware component of MOTHERBOARD for computing the instruction and to process the output.

Processor: A processor is the logic circuitry that responds to and processes the basic instructions that operate a computer. The four core functions of a processor are to fetch, decode, execute and write back.

Processor Era
In 1990s we used to get Chipset processor that is fixed with MOTHERBOARD and cannot be removable. Those processor are like 8085, 8086, 8088. After these processor we used to get Pin Processor.
There are list of processor:
  • Celelron -----------> Pin processor
  • AMD---------------> Pin Processor
  • AMD Athelon-----> Pin Processor
  • Pentium I-----------> Pin Processor
  • Pentium II----------> Pin Processor

What is BIOS-ROM

Hello Guys, in previous hardware topic we have seen internal components of CPU and as well as MOTHERBOARD. From That list today we will see a very important component of MOTHERBOARD is BIOS-ROM. BIOS-ROM is very essential component of MOTHERBOARD and plays vital role. We can also say, without BIOS-ROM we can not think about computer so guys let's have a look of BIOS-ROM.

BIOS-ROM (Basic Input Output System- Read Only Memory): It is an IC circuit which contains complete system hardware information and it is permanent memory Once stored will not be erased. It is also called as Non-volatile memory or non-erasable.
When we power on he system, BIOS will activate first and generates a signal called POST and BSL.
